Together Without You

[php snippet=1]
From Lorimer’s notes: “This painting pays homage to my friend and companion Quilla, a Chesapeake Bay retriever who died far too young. I did a painting of the two of us shortly after she passed away in 2009; Together Without You draws from that earlier, very personal work, serving as a tribute to my own departed dog and to all the dogs who saw our soldiers through their lonely nights at the front.

“It should be noted that dogs at the front did wear gasmasks, as one of their most important jobs was to locate soldiers who had succumbed to gas.”

The original painting has been sold.
